The Low Down

Look Good: This is one of the top places for combining gourmet dining and kids. The spacious back patio has grass for running around--and the trains are way cool.

Know Before You Go: The Deco-styled, noir-ish bar sits across from the restaurant in the former telephone room, and offers a specialized martini menu and a truly eclectic crowd.

What to Drink: The wine list is quite reasonable, with 40 mostly West Coast labels ranging from $30 to $90. About a dozen are available by the glass.
